At Eccleston Primary school we are extremely lucky to have two Maths Ambassadors in each year group. To become a Maths Ambassador the children need to fill out an application form which asks the children to explain why they would like to become a maths ambassador, what qualities they have and what ideas they have to raise the profile of maths around school.
So far, the children have made maths manipulative baskets for their classroom and change these each time their maths unit changes within class. We had an incredible Number Day in school where the children raised money for NSPCC and made sure that each year group was completing different maths challenges throughout the day. Some of our children even host a maths club at lunch time where they have planned and delivered maths games for our children her at Eccleston Primary School.
